Guide on Functionality and Setup

Updated over 5 months ago

How does it work?

With an integration to your acquirer, you can keep track of your payouts. You can import and post payouts from your acquirer directly into the cash journal in your accounting.

Payouts can be imported at line level or in a consolidated batch for the report.

Example: Importing in Batches

When importing in batches, the entire report is handled as a single payout. This is managed via 3 lines.

In the shown example, the first line is the actual payout that needs to be reconciled with the bank.

The second line is the total card fees deducted from the payout. These are posted to a fee account.

The third line is the sum of the card payments including fees that are aggregated in the payout report, which are deducted from your receivable account for your acquirer.

Example: Importing at Line Level

When importing at line level, individual payouts from your acquirer’s report are detailed.

On the first line is the actual total payout that needs to be reconciled with the bank.

The second line is the total card fees deducted from the payout. These are posted to a fee account.

Subsequent lines are individual payouts for each card payment the acquirer has processed. These are deducted separately from your balance account for your acquirer. The reference from your acquirer is inserted on each payment line.

💡 Regarding Payment References

Please note that the reference set is determined by the interplay with your gateway and acquirer and does not necessarily match the order number from your webshop. When using a module: integration to your acquirer, only the data appearing in your payout report is retrieved.

⚙️ Set Settings:

To set up your integration to your acquirer in Dinero, you must first connect your acquirer's module. Follow the instructions on the platform for this. Contact IEX if you have not yet added the module to the integration.

Next, go to Dinero -> Settings -> Settlement setup

Click on the gear-ikon to open the settlement settings

  • First, decide whether you want to group payments (Importing in batches).

  • Then set counterpart accounts for fees, bank, and balance (set receivable account as balance account).

  • Name the lines so that the posting makes sense to you.
